ASEAN ( Association Of South East Asian Nations) or the Associations of south east asians nations was estabilished on august 8, 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand. Founder of ASEAN are Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.
Brunei darussalam joined ASEAN on january 8, 1984, Vietnam on july 28, 1995, Laos and Myanmar on july 23, 1997. and cambodja on april 30, 1999, bringing the total 10 ASEAN member countries to date.
Member countries met on every November. The functions of ASEAN cooperation. ASEAN functions developed based on the following plans:
- ASEAN social development plans
- ASEAN science and technology plan
- ASEAN strategic environmental plan
- ASEAN plan for drug abuse control
